Congratulations are in order for former America’s Got Talent judge Melanie Brown, aka Mel B, aka Scary Spice of Spice Girls fame, who got recently engaged to her boyfriend Rory McPhee. Mel opened up about the romantic engagement in a recent interview.

During an interview on the UK show Celebrity Gogglebox, Brown explained that McPhee popped the question while the couple was on vacation in Berkshire, at a luxury hotel called Clivedon House.
“He said, ‘I love you, you’re my best friend and I want to spend the rest of my life with you,’” Brown recalled, adding that there were “rose petals everywhere” and a log fire. As she said, “It was very romantic. I love flowers.”
McPhee is a hairstylist who sometimes posts videos styling Brown’s hair on Instagram. Brown, who recently judged The Masked Singer Australia and RuPaul’s Drag Race UK, frequently tags McPhee in her looks on her own account. The couple has reportedly been together for three years.

The Spice Girls Star Has Been Married Before
This will be Brown’s third marriage. She was previously married to Jimmy Gulzar, with whom she had a daughter named Phoenix. She later had another daughter with Eddie Murphy, to whom she was not married. Brown later married Stephen Belafonte, with whom she had a third daughter named Madison.
Brown has publicly accused her second husband Belafonte of domestic abuse. She told The Guardian last year that the relationship gave her trust issues. However, the singer also spoke of her current relationship, saying, “I’m with someone who’s very kind. Very, very kind. And more than anything we’re really good friends from way back.”
In addition to her multiple talent show judging gigs, Mel B also previously competed on the second season of The Masked Singer UK as Seahorse.
