Full Name: Donald Arthur Mattingly Profession: Baseball Player and Manager Biography: Don Mattingly was an outstanding first baseman who spent his entire major league baseball playing career with the New York Yankees (1982-95). He was a 6-time All-Star (1984–89); AL MVP (1985); 9-time Gold Glove Award winner (1985–89, 1991–94), 3-time Silver Slugger Award winner (1985–87); AL batting champion (1984); and AL RBI leader (1985). Mattingly served as captain of the Yankees (1991-95), when he retired as a player.
